FAQS
Which dryer, and how many will I need to properly service my requirements?
Your decision should be made based on the volume of calls your station has. Smaller stations with a limited # of calls would be well serviced with a 2 or 3 suit dryer (remote, or low call stations will likely only need to dry gear after practicing). Higher call volume stations should ideally consider one 4 suit dryer per truck so that all teams have dry gear to work in. Larger stations could also consider our 6 and 8 suit units.
What happen's if there's a problem with a Dryer and it needs to be repaired?
Your location determines the service you can expect from J-Tek Manufacturing. If the unit is under warranty and you are within 2 hrs of Toronto, we will send a service rep to you and perform the repairs at your facility. Se below if outside this area. If you are located in the United States, while discussing the issue, we will have you give us the name of a trusted electrician in your area, then we will ship the required replacement part directly to your location. Once it’s arrived, we will contact the electrician and have them perform the repair, to which we will look after the invoice payment. Please note that these are not complicated machines, they are purposely built to be very reliable and extremely easy to work on.
Will I need training to operate the Dryers?
Training NO, familiarizing the usage, YES. Loading the gear is very straight forward. You have 2 resources available to use to train your staff.
Option 1 is to follow the directions and schematic that came with the dryers owner manual.
Option 2 is to have your staff watch the “How to load gear” video from this website.
How many dryers can I order at one time?
You can order from 1 to whatever your situation requires as there is no minimum quantity.
How long will it take to receive my order?
On our more popular models, we carry inventory and can usually ship within a few days, otherwise the usual turnaround time is approximately 3 to 4 weeks.
Do we offer Immersion / HAZMAT suit dryers?
Yes, we have several models to choose from, again, based on your call volume. We offer 2, 3 and 4 suit capacity models. Again, most smaller to medium sized stations will use their dryers more after practicing than after actual calls.
Do we offer dryers with multiple garment type capabilities?
Yes, we have 2 options to consider.
Option 1 is our MB3000C4, combo dryer. This unit has the capacity to dry both turnout gear (4 suits) and Immersion/HAZMAT suits (2) at the same time or simply operate the side you need as this unit is supplied with separate controls, blowers and heat elements for each type of gear and run independently of each other.
Option 2 is our flagship model MB1500DS. Known as the “ Monster”, this unit has interchangeable vertical air tubes which allows the option to dry Turnout gear, Immersion/HAZMAT or Boots/gloves or a combination or any 2. This unit comes with a storage rack to house the optional vertical air tubes while not in service.
